Mentors at NTUitive are experienced individuals with strong professional backgrounds and industry wide networks. They are chosen on the basis of their considerable depth and range of experience in advising a business, an aptitude for coaching, good interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to help young and budding entrepreneurs to start sustainable businesses. All Mentors adhere to a strict Code of Conduct and confidentiality undertaking.

Michel BIRNBAUM

Michel’s background is in Investment Banking, Venture Capital/Private Equity and industry. He has years of operational and advisory experience with technology companies on a global basis, and managed close to 30 IPOs, follow-on debt/equity financing as well as M&A and Private Placement transactions. He held Board positions for a number of technology & media companies as well as served as a C-level advisor to technology and biotechnology companies on strategy, product development, business and corporate finance matters.

Jagjit SINGH

Jagjit is an experienced business leader with strong strategic skills, expertise in a wide range of industries, and deep knowledge of the Asia Pacific region. He started his post-MBA career as a management consultant with A.T. Kearney and The Boston Consulting Group, where he provided strategic advice to clients across a wide range of Industrial sectors. Over the last 8 years, Jagjit worked at Moog Inc, a motion control engineering firm, where he had multiple roles including Marketing and Business Development. In the last 3 years, Jagjit was based in Shanghai, where he was the General Manager and responsible for all of Moog’s business in China.

Edward TAY

Edward is a practicing lawyer specialising in corporate finance and corporate restructuring. He has advised extensively on joint ventures, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, interested party transactions. Edward’s expertise encompasses technology transfer and intellectual property which includes a stint as a university technology transfer officer. He continues to advise institutes of higher learning and technology companies in technology protection strategies, technology licensing and research collaboration. Edward’s track record of advising on numerous projects in the area of technology commercialisation has led to several multi-million dollar institutional investments. 

KEE Thian Seng

Thian Seng is an experienced ICT consultant and mentor in the mobile industry. He has been a mentor with NTU Ventures since 2011, providing valuable consultations and lectures on Lean Launchpad methodologies to aspiring start-ups and students. Thian Seng has served in the MDA i-JAM Expert Panel and was responsible for setting up and maintenance of the IT and Telecom infrastructure and services for K&L Engineering.  Thian Seng was also the former Assistant Director of the Technology and Planning Group, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, where he was responsible for identifying and evangelising emerging mobile, internet and enterprise enabling technologies and platforms. 

Dr TANG Pen San

Pen San has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry, of which more than 10 years was spent in numerous top executive and advisory positions. He also has extensive experience in management, electronics industry, ICT, consulting, corporate planning and development. Dr Tang currently serves as the Founding Director of Packet One Sdn Bhd. and Managing Director of Techno One Advisors Group providing corporate advisory services to technology companies. He is also Regional Director of WiMAX Forum and a member of the Steering Committee of the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI).

CHUA Thian Yee

Thian Yee co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Cassis International Pte. Ltd. Prior to Cassis, Thian Yee was the Managing Director, Strategy, of Gemplus, assisting Dr Marc Lassus on defining the strategy for Gemplus. He joined Gemplus France in 1990 and has held many different positions in Gemplus, including application support, business development, sales, general management and corporate development. In addition, Thian Yee was the Chairman of the joint venture company with Toppan Printing (one of the world’s largest printing companies) for providing personalization and security services.

Felix GNANAPRAGASAM

Felix is an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) with over 30 years of experience leading companies in the semiconductor industry. To date, he has co-founded two world-class companies in the semiconductor test-assembly space, raising private equity and institutional funding. Felix grew both start-ups into international businesses and realized both public and private exits. His technical expertise lies in semiconductor assembly-test, contract manufacturing, PCB manufacturing, automated equipment design and manufacturing.  Felix is an experienced negotiator having been involved in multiple rounds of capital raising and contract negotiations across a wide range of investors and clients. He maintains an excellent global network of credible equipment and material suppliers to deliver technology solutions for cost optimization.

Titan LEE

Titan is a growth hacker and digital marketing professional in SEO/SEM, Social Media Strategies and Multi-Platform Management Tools. Having successes in capturing accelerated growth opportunities and turning potential into realized outcomes, his past credits have included Singapore most successful crowdfunding campaign, Pirate3D which he helped raise over US$1.4mil within 30 days. In 2016, he created another massive success with the campaign of Tiny1: The World’s Smallest Astronomy Camera, raising over US$350,000 on Indiegogo. He was also the Head of Growth for Tech in Asia and is currently working as a trainer on digital marketing strategies.  

Wayne SIEW

Wayne is an experienced sales professional with almost 20 years experience working with MNCs such as P&G, HP, IBM and Oracle. His sales experience covers a broad spectrum of solutions including Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications and Professional Services. He has engaged in adding value to his customers, which span across sectors in the Financial Services, Telcos, Government, Education, Healthcare & Life Sciences.  A firm advocate of the power of coaching, he is passionate about working with young people to realise their potential quickly. He is active in the startup scene, having mentored successful startups, including Glints (www.glints.com), as well as the Sales Coach for IDA Infocomm investments reality VC show, Tyro.VC.

Eddy LEE

Currently the Managing Partner of Coffee Ventures, Eddy has invested in over 50 startups predominantly in the US, Singapore and Indonesia. Interest areas include Fintech, Healthcare, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Marketplace technologies.  Eddy relocated from Silicon Valley and cofounded Coffee Ventures to tackle unmet needs in emerging markets. The early stage fund focuses on people development, product-market iteration, and go-to-market strategy. At Stanford University, he mentored at the StartX incubator, and was formerly a consulting professor. He has also devised a medical imaging technology for visualizing stem cell migration and therapy. In his early career, Eddy was also a designer for semiconductor chips at Marvell, a NASDAQ-listed Southeast Asia success story which he hopes his portfolio startups could one day emulate.
