NTUitive - NTU’s enterprise arm - signs pact with Startup Accelerator India to open collaboration

Date: 22 Oct 2018

Just recently, Startup Accelerator India (SAI) of Govin Academy entered into a signed agreement with NTUitive Pte Ltd, the innovation and enterprise arm of the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). In total, three SAI’s startup proteges have been selected for further acceleration for the next three to six months in Singapore’s Sunrise Incubation Tower, as reported by The Hindu.

The partnership seeks to provide a launch pad for Singaporean startups to expand into the Indian market and vice versa.

“I have visited Startup Accelerator’s programmes in India and believe that startups from NTUitive will gain opportunities to expand into the growing market of India,” said Dr. Lim Jui, CEO, NTUitive Pte Ltd.

SAI is a joint venture between Govin Academy and the State government.

Govin Academy is the entrepreneurship education and management for technology entrepreneurs and digital health professionals based in Singapore, responsible for conducting bootcamps and startup acceleration programmes between Singapore and India.

“Through this partnership, we’re looking to address key societal challenges,” said Dr. Anand Govindaluri, founder and director of Govin Academy about the plan to send startups from Visakhapatnam and Singapore and vice versa.

The three startups areas identified for encouraging startup entrepreneurs include digital health, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and education tech. The selected startups will join workshops, hackathons, and internships to gain insights into India’s market, all led by mentors from Govin and NTUitive.
